GLP-1 Weight Loss Treatment in Clinton County, Michigan

Clinton County is a county in Michigan with a population of approximately 79,595 residents. Our telehealth platform connects patients across all communities in Clinton County with board-certified physicians who can prescribe FDA-approved GLP-1 medications online. Michigan's post-industrial landscape includes communities like Detroit, Flint, and Saginaw where economic distress, food deserts, and limited healthcare access have driven obesity rates well above state averages. The Upper Peninsula's remote communities face extreme healthcare access challenges.

GLP-1 receptor agonists — including semaglutide (Ozempic®, Wegovy®) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro®, Zepbound®) — are clinically proven weight loss medications. Michigan's obesity rate of 32.8% masks severe disparities: Detroit (Wayne County) has obesity rates exceeding 42% in some ZIP codes. Over 1 million Michigan adults are estimated to be clinically eligible for GLP-1 therapy. Patients in Clinton County can now access these treatments through a simple online consultation, without the need to travel to an in-person clinic.

Important Safety Information & References

Black Box Warning: In rodent studies, semaglutide and tirzepatide caused thyroid C-cell tumors. It is unknown whether GLP-1 receptor agonists cause thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), in humans. These medications are contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, headache, and injection site reactions. These typically diminish as dosage is gradually escalated.

Serious side effects may include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, kidney injury, hypoglycemia (with insulin), and allergic reactions. Consult your healthcare provider immediately if you experience severe symptoms.

Contraindications: History of medullary thyroid carcinoma, MEN 2, pancreatitis, pregnancy or breastfeeding, severe gastrointestinal disease. This is not a complete list — always discuss your full medical history with your physician.
